Vintage 1950s 50s post WW2 womens WRAC brown horsehide leather jerkin waistcoat vest battledress British army land girl military 40" chest

A brown leather women’s British WRAC military jerkin, dated 1951. Noted flaws - scuffs and scrapes to the leather throughout, the leather is a little dry and would benefit from regular conditioning to keep it supple, a couple of small holes to the lining, one button has been restitched in differently coloured thread - please see photos. Excellent condition otherwise, full legible contract tag and stamped inside, supple leather, full set of original buttons, all seams are solid, wool lining is in great condition, rarely-seen post-war women's version of the classic British battle dress jerkin, originally worn over regular uniforms for warmth.
