Vintage 1950s 50s leather jacket Buco PJ27 PJ-27 black steerhide biker police 46” chest biker motorcycle

A black leather PJ-27 police biker jacket, dating from the 1950s. Noted flaws - the jacket has been relined in red quilted poly-cotton, so the original Buco tag is missing, the main, lower hand pocket and right cuff zips have been replaced, but all run smoothly, missing the original belt and mouton collar, surface damage and small hole at the centre of the collar fold, small area of repaired damage at the right side of the front collar, some wear at the cuff edges, some of the stitching at the inner pen pocket has come away, there is a central back seam not usually seen on these jackets, which is off-centre towards the left; on close inspection, I suspect the back right side panel is a closely matched repair/replacement - please see photos. Buco PJ-27 jackets have a very particular shape to the epaulettes, chest pocket and other details, which correspond to this jacket, despite it not having the original tag or lining. Chest pocket with badge holder rivet holes, press studs around the collar for a removable mouton collar, press stud belt loops, all zippers run smoothly, all seams are solid, stitched pen holder inside the chest pocket, some brown patina at the chest pocket, where the outline of a writing pad or large wallet carried inside the pocket can be seen, action back for movement, thick, supple leather, excellent quality, weighs 2.5kg.
