Vintage 1950s 50s French army military Lafuma khaki green rucksack backpack leather cotton canvas camping gear hiking metal frame

A French military cotton canvas and leather metal frame backpack, dating from the early 1950s. Noted flaws - discolouration, scuffs, scrapes, spots and marks to the canvas and leather throughout, missing the two removable leather side straps, drawstring is a replacement, one of the drawstring eyehole rivets has come away - please see photos. Great condition otherwise, made by classic French outdoors brand Lafuma, supple leather straps, non-removable metal frame, stamped inside the main flap, adjustable leather straps with reprocessed wool cushioning, large side pockets, main bag will hold around 40l.
