Vintage 1940s 40s French cream Canadienne barnstormer mackinaw jacket coat sheepskin cotton canvas 48” chest

A French cream cotton canvas Canadienne coat, dating from the 1940s. Noted flaws - some marking at the cuff edges and placket, some light marking to the sheepskin lining, some spotting at the upper right arm, the two leather toggles at the very end of the collar have been cut at the seam, the belt, although it original, does not reach all the way around the coat and the hook on the buckle will not remain fastened (this could be remedied by adding some matching fabric to the belt and stitching on a new buckle), two small verdigris marks on the back, pin prick holes at the front right chest where a button has been removed - please see photos. Lined in the body in sheepskin, lining is in good supple condition with no shedding, soft, rich brown real mouton collar with no shedding, two hand pockets, two lower pockets, pockets are edged in leather and pocket bags are intact, full set of original buttons, can be fastened either side, great texture to the canvas, great style, classic French jacket, excellent quality, weighs 3kg, so international postage is expensive!
