A Swedish military ‘mattornist’ cotton cross body bag, dated 1939. Noted flaws - various ingrained marks and signs of use throughout, missing the original button-in inner pocket, some frayed wear at the main flap fold, belt strap has been removed from the top and reattached at the centre back - please see photos. Thick woven cotton, adjustable shoulder strap, loop for wearing on a belt, fastens by straps buttoning on to zinc buttons, great stamp.

The bag is perfect as a stand-in for a Swedish Vendel period belt bag. It feels as if the 1930s military version is only a few iterations different. The leather and stitches are amazing. Would have loved the stamp with three crowns but would not be SCA approved, so all is well. Thank you!
