A set of British cotton twill coveralls, dating from the early-mid 1940s. Noted flaws - uneven, patchy faded colour throughout, various ingrained marks throughout, the main placket buttons are all replacements, missing the original contract label, various patched and small hand repairs throughout, various areas of frayed wear throughout, wear and damage at the cuff edges, pocket bags have been added by a previous owner, wear, repairs and damage at the pocket entries, the pronged back buckle fastening is a replacement - please see photos. Originally worn for mechanics work or by tank crew as a lighterweight coverall throughout WW2, tool pocket at the mid right leg, attached belt with pronged buckle at the back, single chest pocket, mandarin collar, stitched holes at the underarms, good quality cotton twill, broad arrow WD stamp inside the front placket, perfect for LARP events or for wearing as is, freshly laundered, suitable for everyone.
