A vintage indigo cotton traditional Japanese open fronted kimono. Noted flaws - various areas of original hand repairs, patched repairs, surface fraying and uneven colour throughout - please see photos. Great condition otherwise, entirely made by hand with no machine stitching, beautiful deep indigo colour, sashiko stitching throughout, double layered cotton, open front with no fastenings, could be worn around the home or as a long lightweight coat, suitable for everyone. The photos show both sides of the kimono, and it could be worn on either side, either showing the repairs or hiding them. Hard to put an exact date on its age, but likely dates from somewhere around the 1930s - 1950s.
