A French conker-brown leather postman’s satchel, dating from the late 1950s or early 1960s. Noted flaws - various scrapes, scuffs, dents and marks to the leather throughout, some creasing to the straps - please see photos. Beautiful thick leather, adjustable shoulder strap, all seams are solid, fastens with two buckles at the front, PTT (Postes, Télégraphes et Téléphones, the precursor to La Poste, the French national postal service) stamped on the front beneath the flap, single main compartment with no dividers, full set of rivets on the base, handy size for a laptop, weighs around 1.5kg empty.
