Vintage 1950s Belstaff Trialmaster - full suit including jacket and trousers - waxed cotton motorcycle trial bike racing - 45" chest

A waxed cotton motorcycle jacket by classic British brand Belstaff, dating from the 1950s. Noted flaws - jacket - some surface nicks at the top left shoulder and at the base of the lower right hand pocket, various ingrained marks throughout, the upper left press stud of the map pocket won’t fasten, gritty texture due to its original use. Trousers - the label is faded and frayed but present, various ingrained marks throughout, gritty texture due to their original use. Please note that areas of dirt from use in motorcycle racing are still present - please see photos. Classic British cotton motorcycle jacket, well used for its intended use by its original owner, who was a trial bike rider throughout the 1960s and ‘70s, brushed but not washed in order to preserve the original wax and patina, made in England, original Lightning zippers all work as they should, blue tartan lining throughout, chequered flag labels, original belt for the jacket, corduroy collar with chin strap, riveted air holes under the armpits, angled map pocket, two chest pockets, two lower hand pockets, trousers have zippered straight through pockets, the trousers elasticated waistband still has plenty of stretch, double lined at the seat and inner lower legs, weatherproof waxed cotton, original 1950s trial bike suit with plenty of useable life in it, suitable for everyone.
