A French cotton canvas M38 double breasted bourgeron jacket, dating from the late 1930s or early 1940s. Noted flaws - uneven faded colour throughout, small fray at the back centre-left, fray beneath the lowermost front right main placket button, the second down inner buttonhole has frayed damage, white mark at the back of the right cuff area, the right hand pocket button has cracked in half, the main placket buttons are close-match replacements - please see photos. Excellent condition otherwise, distinctive curved double breasted placket, tough cotton canvas, the original removable wool liner is present and in excellent condition, attached shoulder epaulettes, all other original wooden buttons are present, button over cuffs, two button down hand pockets, button up equipment tab at the left armpit, storm flap under the collar, solidly well made, originally worn by motorised French troops during WW2, sought after original military jacket in excellent condition, weighs over 2kg, suitable for everyone.
