A blue and white striped cotton overall dress by classic British workwear brand, Beacon, dating from the mid-late 1940s. Noted flaws - various areas of storage marking throughout, particularly at the shoulders and around the hem area - please see photos. Excellent, unworn, unlaundered deadstock condition otherwise, full set of original coated rubber buttons, scalloped and pleated cuffs, contrasting collar and cuffs, hidden elasticated waistband still has stretch, two hand pockets, original attached hand cloth inside, original Esso patch stitched to the left chest, original card swing tag in the collar. The colour in photos taken outside appear brighter - actual colour is most like the flat-lay photos.

A very rare piece, these post-war overalls have never been used and would have been intended for use by female petrol station forecourt attendants. Beacon made various workwear items under the government’s CC41 contract.
