A set of brown cotton coveralls by British workwear brand, T Jiggins & Son of Essex, dating from the 1940s. Noted flaws - uneven, patchy faded colour throughout, particularly at the seat, elbows and collar areas, various areas of storage marking throughout, particularly at the front right chest and lower front legs, the CC41 stamp in the collar has almost entirely faded (the upper curves of the two Cs can be just seen), faded colour to the collar embroidery, the buttons have either been re-sewn or are period-match replacements - please see photos. Excellent condition otherwise, they appear to be unworn or only very lightly used, thick, good quality cotton drill fabric, great label, two straight through openings and regular hand pockets, single chest pocket, embroidered Shell-Mex & BP Ltd branding in red at the collar, button-up attached back belt,

A very rare piece, these WW2-era coveralls would have been intended for use either by petrol station forecourt attendants or garage mechanics.
