Antique WW1 British military shoulder bag - Egyptian Citadel Workshop Stores - canvas and leather satchel - 1910s haversack

A khaki green canvas and thick bridle leather British military shoulder bag, dating from the early twentieth century. Noted flaws - various ingrained marks to the canvas and strap throughout, various scuffs, scrapes and wear to the leather throughout, some areas of the leather straps are quite dry and will need regular oiling to keep them supple, the left side leather strap is quite delicate where it attaches to the webbing strap, damage and holes throughout the wool lining, the main flap appears to have been coated with green paint by a previous owner, a few loose stitches at the right side strap where it attaches to the main body of the bag, several areas of the leather edging are coming away - please see photos. Great condition otherwise, thick, supple canvas outer, four flat compartments inside, sturdy webbing shoulder strap, all heavyweight brass fixtures and fittings appear to be original, lined in grey wool, stamped at the base ‘Citadel Workshop, Dept. of Stores, Egyptian Army’, also stamped several times throughout with the name T. Jones, made at Egyptian workshops while British troops were stationed there, a real piece of useable history, weighs 1.2kg empty.
