Antique 1920s leather motorcycle jacket - Brodmotor - vintage cropped biker jacket - buckle back - 41” chest

A warm brown leather motoring coat by Brodmotor, dating from the early 1920s. Noted flaws - uneven colour throughout, various scuffs and nicks throughout, various ingrained marking throughout, small surface repair to a hole on the top of the right shoulder, some marking to the wool lining, particularly at the collar area, two pen marks, one at the lower centre front and one at the lower right hand pocket flap - please see photos. Excellent condition otherwise, considering it’s age, lined in thin, taupe woven wool, full set of original buttons, butter-soft and supple leather, no materials listed, but it feels like a fine goat or kid skin leather, original back adjuster belt with pronged buckle, two sets of hand pockets, all with pocket bags intact, beautiful silk label in the collar, double breasted and a can be fastened on either the left or right side. Although very much in wearable condition, care should be taken when wearing this 100+ year-old jacket; shoulder bags shouldn’t be worn with it, for example.
Brodmotor made clothing for the early motorcycle and motoring industries as well as golfing attire, and were stocked at Hudson Bay stores in Canada.
