A red and black heavyweight buffalo plaid wool mackinaw jacket by classic American brand, JC Penney, dating from the late 1930s or early 1940s. Noted flaws - several small holes throughout, particularly at the the back shoulders, some wear at the elbows and seam/hem edges, missing one button of two from each cuff, the right chest pocket button is cracked, the original waterproof lining in the shoulders has been removed by a previous owner - please see photos. Great condition otherwise, unlaundered due to possible colour run, thoroughly steamed, thick, supple wool, full set of original buttons otherwise, double lined over the shoulders, two chest pockets, two lower D pockets, straight through back pocket, rarely-seen label, excellent quality, classic American buffalo plaid jacket, weighs a little over 2kg, suitable for everyone.
